Who are We?
Having opened our doors to international trading on the 1st of April, 1994, Ernest Trading Co. was founded by Ernest Lalaka Silva, a Sri Lankan entrepreneur who has had a strong connection with Japan for over 40 years. With nearly twenty six years of successful business operation under our belt, we specialize in the export of automobiles, paper, construction machinery,aluminium scrap etc to markets from Japan to South Asian markets and other overseas consumers. Providing cohesive support services, we guide our clients into getting a foothold in various markets by establishing a comprehensive line of communication with local partners and businesses.

Our Story
Ernest Lalaka Silva set up a sole proprietorship by the name of Ernest Trading Co back in March, 1991 and the first corporate office was declared open to the public in April, 1994 at the headquarters located at Hagioka-cho, Naka-ku, Hamamatsu City. In 2000, our head office moved to a larger space at Sugawara-cho, Naka-ku, Hamamatsu City while a decade later, Ernest Trading Co's business consultancy sector which focuses on expanding brands and product export to India and Sri Lanka was launched. Serving as consultants for prominent investors in Japan, India and Sri Lanka, we have worked to find regional markets for paper, automobile machinery, motorcar manufacturers and aluminum exporters among others.
